Phillips Lighting North America Corp. of Somerset, N.J. has agreed to pay $2 million to the government for a civil penalty. According to the CPSC, they failed to report damages and faulty lamps. Companies are required by law to alert the CPSC of any defective products. Consumers who purchased the Phillips Marathon florescent lamps are encouraged to proceed with caution or to return the product. The company has neither admitted nor denied the allegations but agreed to pay the fines.
SALESONE WARNS CONSUMERS OF LIGHT UP EAR PLUG JEWELRY
Light up ear plug jewelry are baubles you put in your ear, that help with stretching the hole. It is coin-battery operated and lights up. However, consumers have reported burn injuries caused by leaking battery acid. The manufacturers encourage consumers to return the product for a new one without the batteries or for a refund.

This can lead to potential fire hazards. The firm has received five reports of fuel leaks. The manufacturers recommend you stop use immediately and schedule a free repair.
