If you purchased a John Deere riding lawn tractor at Home Depot, Lowe's, or another John Deere dealer between May 2015 and August 2015, this recall announcement is for you. The manufacturer is recalling 1,700 of its lawn tractor units over a crash hazard. Models D110, D125, D130, D140, D155, D160 and D170 lawn tractors with serial numbers beginning with 1GXD were affected. Although no injuries or incidents have been reported, the manufacturer discovered a problem with the tractors' brake arm that could put consumers in danger.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU PURCHASED A RECALLED TRACTOR
If you purchased one of these recalled John Deere lawn tractors, you should stop using it immediately and contact the manufacturer to get a free repair. You may also get a call or mail from John Deere explaining what steps to take if you are a registered owner of one of these recalled vehicles.
