Wyatt Law Firm Steps Up To Support Elf Louise Christmas Project
It’s heart-breaking to think of any child having no presents to open on Christmas. But in this pandemic, more families than ever are struggling. To do our part, Wyatt Law Firm, PLLC, was happy to donate $35,000 to the Elf Louise Christmas project to help bring toys and gifts to kids in the San Antonio area. In fact, we have been so impressed by this amazing program that our team will be partnering year-round to raise funds and raise awareness.
The Elf Louise Christmas Project was founded by “elf” Louise Locker in 1969. Through donations, the program buys thousands of presents for less fortunate children throughout Bexar County. The hand-picked toys and gifts are wrapped and then delivered by volunteers in Santa suits. In 2020 this process was altered to accommodate CDC guidelines, but the program will still serve 19,000 children this year.
BRINGING JOY GIVES US JOY
The Elf Louise Christmas Project has been doing this important work for over 50 years. It’s a massive effort involving 4,500 volunteers. In 2019, the program purchased and distributed $275,000 worth of new toys to more than 60,000 children in need.
The Wyatt Law Firm, through the Wyatt Family Foundation, donated $35,000 to help the Elf Louise Christmas Project meet its 2020 fundraising goal. The more we learned about this incredible mission, the more we wanted to lean in and help. Rather than a one-time donation, we have committed to a new partnership with the Elf Louise Christmas project to make the holidays a little brighter for even more children, this year and every year. Through ongoing events and promotional efforts throughout the year, such as 1200 WOAI News Radio’s annual radiothon, the annual silent auction, and golf tournament, we will strive to raise $500,000 for 2021.
Supporting the Elf Louise Christmas project dovetails with Wyatt Law Firm’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the communities we serve. Our firm’s proud community involvement includes donating to the San Antonio Food Bank, feeding frontline medical workers and firefighters, providing gift cards to COVID-19 plasma donors, funding vocational scholarships, and other efforts.
